Aviagen is a world leading poultry science company, developing pedigree lines for the production of broiler chickens and turkeys. The company is based near Edinburgh, UK ,with a number of wholly owned operations and joint ventures across the world.
Based at Newbridge, we have a vacancy for a production manager, reporting to the GP operations manager. In this role you will have direct management input and responsibility for a number of our production sites, conducting regular farm visits to monitor and manage agreed protocols; you will provide constructive input in ensuring that key performance indicators are achieved. Liaison with colleagues in other departments and suppliers is required on a daily basis; therefore, it is essential that you possess strong all-round communication skills.
You should have a thorough knowledge and understanding of broiler breeder husbandry with a good track record in a management capacity, established through experience working closely with stock. In addition to being able to work as part of a team, you will also have proven organisational, presentation and communication skills along with financial awareness as well as the ability to diagnose and solve problems and work on your own initiative.
A full driving licence is also required for this position.
